An official from College of the Canyons announced this last week that an archive featuring documents and memorabilia from Congressman Howard P. “Buck” McKeon’s 22 years in office will soon be on display.
The archive spanning over two decades will be formally announced during a forum at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons on Nov. 6.
The former Chairman of the House Education and the Workforce Committee was heavily involved and influential in the development of COC. As a result, various materials regarding his involvement in the community will be on display for students and will serve as a resource to those in the district. It has not yet been made known as to how the archive will be presented.
The Nov. 6 forum will run from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and include an address from Gen. John F. Kelly, the commander of the U.S. Southern Command. He is responsible for U.S. military activity in Central and South America.
