This summer provided Chairman McKeon with the opportunity to reconnect with those he worked with during his twenty-two years in Congress. There were a number of events, fundraisers, and other functions which provided the Chairman with the opportunity to meet new leaders and touch base with old contacts and friends. The following is a summarized breakdown of the Chairman’s travels over the course of the 2016 summer:
June 14, 2016: Chairman McKeon attended the Former Members Memorial Service at the Capitol.
June 14, 2016: That evening, Chairman McKeon attended a Special Operations Wounded Warriors fundraising event known as Saluting Valor.
June 29, 2016: A bipartisan policy event was held with Senator John McCain in which Chairman McKeon was in attendance.
July 7-8, 2016: Congressman Bob Goodlatte, Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, held a fundraising event at the Beautiful Homestead Resort in Hot Springs VA. The resort is a 200 year old historic resort. The Chairman golfed with Congressman Mike Conaway, Chairman of the Agriculture Committee. Many other members of Congress were in attendance.
July 14, 2016: As a member of the panel, Chairman McKeon participated in the Opinion Leaders Symposium at the Korean Economic Institute.
July 18, 2016: Chairman McKeon was a keynote speaker at the BSA Camp Wilson.
July 29, 2016: The Chairman and his wife, Patricia, attended their grandson, Brian McKeon’s, wedding in Idaho.
August 12, 2016: The Minister of Congressional Affairs of the Japanese Embassy invited the Chairman to lunch.
August 12, 2016: Later that same day, Chairman McKeon had dinner at the private residence of Ambassador Ahn at the Korean Embassy.
