The McKeon Group announced today the new research associate class for the Summer 2019 session. The mission of the program is to make the Washington, D.C. accessible to future leaders around the nation and to prepare those devoted to public service for future leadership opportunities. The program provides a unique opportunity to gain valuable professional experience, first-hand knowledge, and build leadership skills.
Under the tutelage of McKeon Group SVP John Chwat, students from the Washington Center, which prides itself as being the bridge between higher education and professional careers—leveraging all of what Washington, D.C. has to offer to provide dynamic, experiential learning opportunities to empower and motivate young people to become engaged global citizens.
The below list includes the Summer 2019 research associates, their hometowns, and the higher education institution they most recently attended:
Jake Jensen is a senior studying Political Science at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He is excited to intern with the McKeon Group, where he hopes to learn about the legislative process and gain experience conducting research. Jake is from Fishers, Indiana, and will apply to law schools in the fall.
Joel Galloway is an undergraduate at Brigham Young University majoring in political science and minoring in business. One objective he has while working for the McKeon Group is to gain a greater understanding of the legislative process and how different groups impact the legislation the United States Congress enacts.
Preston Keeler, from Las Vegas Nevada, is a senior at Brigham Young University majoring in history with an emphasis in early American history and minoring in political science. Preston is excited to work with the McKeon Group to gain hands on experience in lobbying and the policy making process.
Connor Meyers is currently a Junior at Utah State University. Connor spent the last two years playing college football and double majoring in political science and criminal justice. Connor joins the McKeon group as a Research Associate in hopes to gain exposure and experience in the lobbyist/consulting realm as well as with the legislative process.
